Overview:
The Chapada Diamantina is a spectacular mountain range in the interior of Bahia. It has become famous because of the extensive adventure activities that are available in this extraordinary National Park.
It was declared a National Park in the 1980’s to protect the Mountainous area from development.
From a base either in Lencois or Pameiras the visitor has the choice of an ever expanding list of activities to participate in.
From short half day walks to beautiful waterfalls to three to four day treks amongst the Mountains there is an activity for everyone to participate in.
Extensive tracks exist for Mountain Bike riding as well as marked climbs and abseiling for all levels. Caves, caverns and waterfalls are being discovered regularly as more and more of the park is explored.
