DAY 1 to 3
Welcoming at Campo Grande airport. Immediate transfer to Pousada Xaraes, also a working cattle farm, which is situated in the middle of the beautiful Pantanal. Experience the wonderful sounds of the Pantanal birds & monkeys from the Abobral River, situated just metres from your room.
Experience a variety of adventures such as 4X4 safari trips, canoe & motor boat trips, horse riding, trail walking, nocturnal animal spotlighting, photographic safari, horse & cart trip, bike rides and catch & release fishing with all meals and specialist guides included.
DAY 4
After breakfast you will leave the Pantanal behind, heading for the National Park of Serra da Bodoquena, where you will visit the Boca da Onça Ecotour. Here an easy trail leads you through the jungle for almost 5km where you will see hundred year old trees and many waterfalls, including the highest of the State of South Mato Grosso, the Cachoeira Boca da Onça (Jaguars mouth waterfall) with a height of 156m.
There are several opportunities to have a swim or a natural massage at one of the local waterfalls. You will return to the reception area where lunch is served. Afterwards, plunge into the natural swimming pools and swim amongst their friendly native fish or just enjoy the atmosphere in one of the nearby hammocks.
At the end of the afternoon transfer to Bonito and check-in to your hotel. Evening at leisure.
We suggest for dinner you visit the restaurant Canto de Peixe in Bonito. It specializes in a variety of fish dishes sourced from the local area. It is an understated restaurant however you will be pleasantly surprised by your meal. (B,L)
DAY 5
After breakfast, visit the Gruta do Lago Azul (Blue Cave). The Blue Cave is one of the many limestone caverns that exist in the local area. It gets its name from the shimmering blue colour of the water which is visible when the sunlight shines through the caves ceiling.
Continue to the Rio da Prata Ecologic Reserve & Homestead where you will take a 30 minute walk through the forest. If you are lucky you may see a troop of monkeys that frequents the local area. At the end of the walk you will snorkel down the Prata River experiencing this natural aquarium full of native fish in their natural habitat.
A local home style lunch is included and then a rest in the hammocks around the old homestead. Overnight in Bonito. (B,L)
