4 DAYS/3 NIGHTS Back to the Paraty Travel Option
DAY 1
Sit back and relax as you are driven down the coast from Rio to the UNESCO registered town of Paraty. Check into your Pousada and then a guide will take you on a city tour. Paraty was an important staging post for the gold trade from Brazil to Europe.
Reflecting this past wealth the town was built in a traditional Portuguese style.We suggest you go for a walk around town after dinner and visit one of the small bars that spill out into the cobble stone streets, playing traditional Brazilian music.
DAY 2
After Breakfast it is off to the wharf where your schooner awaits to take you for a trip around the bay. Drift along Angra dos Reis bay on a traditional sailing boat.
With the backdrop of the semi-tropical rainforest extending high into the coastal mountains and unspoilt beaches it is a perfect way to spend the day. Stop at one of the many deserted beaches for a swim in the crystal clear waters of the bay.
Rest of the day is free. (B).
DAY 3
After breakfast you will go up into the mountains to a local farm where you will visit local waterfalls, colonial ruins and take an easy walk amongst the dense tropical Atlantic Forest coming into direct contact with the flora and fauna of the local region.
Lunch will be served in a restaurant at the top of the mountains, amongst the atlantic forest with a marvellous view and some tantalising choices on the menu. Evening is free. (B,L)
DAY 4
After breakfast you are free to revisit the historical centre once again before departing for Rio de Janeiro. (B)
