DAY 1
On arrival at Easter Island you will me welcomed and transferred to your hotel for overnight.
DAY 2
Full day tour visiting the moai ruins at Ahu Vaihu and Ahu Akahanga which said to be the final resting place of the island’s first king.
Continue to Rano Raraku quarry and Ahu Tongariki before heading to Ahu Te Pito Kura or “Navel of the World”.
Visit the partially rebuilt Ahu Nau Nau and the lone moai of Ahu Ature Huki before your leisurely picnic on Anakena beach. Return to your hotel. Evening at leisure. (B, L)
DAY 3
Your morning tour takes you to Ahu Vinapu temple before heading up the Rano Kau volcano to the town of Orongo, birthplace of the Bird Man ceremony and home to hundreds of petroglyphs not to mention a spectacular view from its 300 metre high cliffs. Wander around the local craft market on the way back to your hotel.
This afternoons tour visits Ahu Tahai temple, the oldest on the island & the Sebastian Englert Anthropological Museum. (B)
DAY 4
Morning tour to Ahu Akivi with its moais dating back to 1460AD. See Puna a Pau Hill, a redstone quarry most likely the source of the moais topknots and hairpieces.
Transfer to airport for your departure flight (B).
